
Temporary Graduate Visa - subclass 485
This visa is established for international students who have just graduated from Australian vocational and technical colleges or universities, and allows graduates to work, study or travel in Australia. Each graduate has only one chance to apply as the primary applicant.
The visa is classified into two categories:
Graduate Work Visa (Graduate Work stream): For international students majoring in the Skills and Career List (Skilled Occupation List SOL). For a period of 18 months. Graduates can use this period to find a job or take a Career Year course (Professional Year) to increase their scores for applying for 189 independent skilled immigrants.
Post-study Work Visa (Post-Study Work stream): Suitable for advanced degree graduates in any professional field. Applicants must receive the first student visa after November 5,2011. Depending on the degree, the visa lasts up to four years. Among them, bachelor's degree and master's degree graduates receive 2-year visa, master research degree graduates receive 3-year visa; and PhD graduates receive 4-year visa.
Basic conditions for applying for the visa:
1. Qualified visa: (1) has a 572,573 or 574 student visa, or (2) has a qualified student visa at any time in the past 6 months and now holds A bridge visa A or B, or currently holds A physical visa. This means that graduates must apply for a 485 visa within six months after the student visa expires.
2. English ability: IELTS average 6 (5 or more);
3. Study period: Completed one or more degrees or qualifications in Australia within 6 months prior to the application, for at least 2 academic years (92 weeks).
particular conditions:
- Nomination a career on SOL;
- Received the skill assessment result of the skill certification body or have submitted an application for skill assessment;
- Meet the 2-year study requirements in Australia in the past 6 months;Every degree or certificate that meets the Australian study requirements must be closely related to the nominated profession.

The main differences between the conditions required by the above two categories (GW and PSW):

GW is only suitable for a career on SOL; PSW is suitable for any major;

GW is an 18-month visa, and PSW is at least 2 years;

GW is suitable for vocational and technical colleges or college graduates, while PSW is only suitable for college graduates.
What materials should be prepared to apply for a Class 485 type of visa?

Student Visa and Admission Confirmation letter (Certificate Of Enrollment, COE);

Passport and entry and exit history records;

Birth certificate notarial certificate or household registration book notarial certificate;

Academic Completion letter (completion letter) and transcripts (official academic transcript);

The total IELTS score should be no less than 6 and no less than 5 for each item. PTE, OET and other forms of examination can also be replaced (valid within 3 years);
